Kinnear Here For The Football Not The Politics
Joe Kinnear has said he is in this for the football & not the politics, despite making waves within the media with his previous comments. Kinnear has hinted in interviews that he does have knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes but hasn't directly commented on the recent state of the club's sale or Ashley's intentions, other than to say he will be in post for an extended period of time.

POLL: Would You Keep Kinnear If Ashley Can't Sell?
Joe Kinnear has taken the role of Interim manager whilst Mike Ashley attempts to sell Newcastle United FC. Kinnear previously announced he expected to be around for just 6 to 8 games, that time-frame has now been extended to a possible 12 matches as potential buyers are given extra time to consider their options.

Poll Results: 43% Fans Want New Manager In Now
The fan's want Mike Ashley to see the club through a sale before a new manager is permanently appointed. That's the verdict of the latest Tyne-Talk poll which saw 57.14% of voters, preferring to keep Ashley firmly in place until he has sorted out the mess he had created.

Viduka Could Be Out Till 2009/10 Season
Newcastle's injury prone Aussie striker Mark Viduka could be sidelined for another 6 months if it is decided he needs a 2nd round of surgery on his Achilles injury. Viduka, who signed for Newcastle on a free transfer in June 07, has been out injured since May of this year with an Achilles injury which he had hoped would have been cured after the first operation which took place back in the summer.

Club Won't Be Sold Before November
Newcastle United have extended the deadline potential buyers have to register their interest in the club. Today had been reported as the day set by Ashley for prospective buyers to throw their name into the hat, but that has now changed and they are believed to have another 10 days to consider the option.

Precious Crumbs Of Comfort
I only hope you appreciate how painful it's been to write what you are about to read. In March last year, I began what was only the second of these round-up pieces by claiming that "in the recent history of Newcastle Utd there can have been few months more thoroughly depressing than that which we've just had the misfortune to endure".

Owen Rejected By Capello Again
Michael Owen has been rejected once again by England manager Fabio Capello after failing to make the squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Belarus. The 28 year old striker was hoping to make the 23 man squad after missing out last month when England played Andorra and Croatia.

FA To Investigate Kinnear
Joe Kinnear could find himself being investigated by the FA after breaching his touchline ban during yesterday's 2-2 draw at Goodison Park. Newcastle United's interim manager was clearly seen standing behind the 4th official at one point during the match and was then accompanied down the tunnel by a police officer after a brief discussion with 4th official Anthony Taylor.
