Someone from The Stadium of Light must have run over a Black Cat because Sunderland concede three own goals in seven minutes, two from Michael Proctor, in losing to Charlton to drop the Wearsiders to bottom of the table. West Brom rise to 18th after beating Manchester City. Bolton thrash Birmingham to stay clear of the relegation zone.

A brace from Robert Pires beats Fulham and keeps Arsenal top. Manchester United win for the fifth game running, against Southampton, and stay second.

West Ham lose to Liverpool and stay 19th.

Van Nistelrooy’s goal sinks Birmingham and keeps United second.

Liverpool announce a £100 million kit deal with Reebok, the biggest in the club’s history.

Teddy Sheringham scores his 300th career goal as Spurs beat Sunderland to keep The Black Cats 20th.

Arsenal are held by Newcastle but stay top, The Magpies are third but Laurent Robert is sent off after grabbing The Magpies’ equaliser. United are just four minutes from winning the Manchester derby but substitute Shaun Goater grabs the City equaliser and The Reds stay second.
Bolton stay clear of the bottom three with a draw that keeps West Brom 18th. West Ham lose to a Seth Johnson goal, for Leeds, and remain 19th.

Sir Alex Ferguson kicks up a storm in the press when he volleys a boot across the dressing-room into the face of David Beckham, after Arsenal beat United in the FA Cup.
Arsenal stick five past Peter Schmeichel as Manchester City can’t contain the leaders, who record their best away win of the season, but Anelka does score against his former club. Manchester United fall two points further behind when they are held by Bolton. Newcastle stay third with victory over Leeds.

Poor old Kevin Phillips scores for the third game running but Sunderland’s fifth consecutive defeat, to Middlesbrough, leaves The Black Cats rooted to the foot of the table.
West Ham improve to 18th with victory, in the relegation battle over West Brom, thanks to two Trevor Sinclair goal. Paulo Di Canio ‘throws his toys out of the pram’ in a touchline tantrum after being substituted. Albion drop a place to 19th.
Birmingham make it four points out of six against Liverpool with victory at St Andrews that keeps Blues well clear of the drop zone.
