| 2002 Cups and awards Worthington League Cup Blackburn Rovers 2 Tottenham Hotspur 1 Blackburn emerged victorious from the first domestic cup final to be played under cover as the retractable roof of the Millennium Stadium was closed. Matt Jensen put Rovers ahead just past the halfway point of the first half only for Christian Ziege to equalise just five minutes later. The decisive goal came from Andy Cole who scored with just over 20 minutes remaining to secure Blackburn’s first ever League Cup. FA Cup Final Arsenal 2 Chelsea 0 Arsenal were given a massive advantage when Chelsea fielded a palpably unfit Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink from the start although The Gunners took until 20 minutes from time to open the scoring. The Premiership winners were always comfortable in the first all-London final for 21 years. The first goal came with a stunning long-range curling shot from Ray Parlour, after runs by Thierry Henry and Sylvain Wiltord creating the space for the midfielder. Ten minutes later Arsenal clinched the FA Cup when Ljunberg had the strength to hold off a defender before curling his shot inside the far post. Skipper Tony Adams, 35, lifted the FA Cup on his 669th appearance for Arsenal.
