The game was scoreless at the interval and at 90 minutes but five minutes into extra-time Frank Sinclair put Chelsea ahead. Twelve minutes later Roberto Di Matteo made it 2–0. FA Cup Final Arsenal 2 Newcastle United 0 Arsenal clinched the ‘Double’ with victory over a disappointing Newcastle United. The Gunners took the lead through a Marc Overmars goal, midway through the first half and sealed the game, halfway through the second period when Nicolas Anelka scored number two.
