It looks to be another intense summer transfer window at the end of this season as the depth of Premier League competition and quality increases against. New TV deals with inevitably be agreed allowing clubs more than ever to spend on lucrative contract deals and transfer fee’s however who from the Premier League may be moving elsewhere. These players appear to be unsettled or want to move onto bigger and better things…
Alexis Sanchez
Alexis Sanchez is looking more and more unsettled as the games fly by for Arsene Wenger who may be out the door himself at the end of this campaign. Alexis is no doubt a world-class talent and when you come from a team like Barcelona who just pulled off a master-class comeback you expect bigger things from your club. Arsenal failed to get past the second round in the Champions League against suffering a 10-2 defeat on aggregate against Bayern Munich where Sanchez was seen subtly laughing on the bench as his team conceded another. There’s no doubt if any sort of substantial bid comes in for Sanchez this summer he will be off.
Phillipe Coutinho
Coutinho is undoubtedly Liverpool’s most creative player and for a good reason – his quick dribbling, defence splitting passes and long-range shooting is a nightmare for any defence. When Coutinho arrived at Liverpool he was a diamond in the rough, an unfinished product however his consistency has improved significantly and he’s proved within the right team he can shine when called upon. This has brought about the attention of teams like Barcelona who favour technical prowess over anything else. If Barcelona come calling this summer, it will be hard for Coutinho to say no and Klopp may have to find a replacement for his Brazilian star.
Romelu Lukaku
Lukaku has hit some impressive this season for Everton and looks to be right up there when competing for the Golden Boot in the Premier League. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich would be looking on disappointed in his decision to let Lukaku go if it wasn’t for Costa’s great form which puts Chelsea on top of the league. Lukaku has only recently rejected a new lucrative £130,000 per week contract from The Toffee’s which signals his intention to leave indefinitely come this summer. Could Chelsea be back in the running for him, or will Man United secure their forward options for the future with a bid for the Belgian?
Jack Wilshere
Jack Wilshere has been on a long-term loan at Bournemouth this season after disappointing at Arsenal with injury after injury. However, he has since hit back with some decent form and proved he can put a string of games together. Despite this and his technical ability Arsenal may not be willing to gamble on Wilshere again and with the Premier League thin on English players with his amount of ability there may be some interest from other clubs like Everton, Southampton and West Ham who may able to afford his wages.
Riyad Mahrez
Riyad Mahrez made a very important decision last summer to stay with Premier League holders Leicester City although some believe it may be short lived. Leicester have had what can only be called a very roller-coaster season. Not only do they float above the relegation zone but they have sacked their greatest manager in history in Claudio Ranieri. Despite the progress in the Champions League the future does look bleak at Leicester. Mahrez is a player of great talent who will be surely attracting the eyes of bigger clubs in the Premier League and abroad. Time will tell if Mahrez makes his next move away from the King Power Stadium…
